Let’s come to the heart of the performance, the sublime Capucine Chiaudani. As Desdemona she visibly touched the hearts of the audience in the sold out theater. Magnificent her voice, gripping her interpretation – and a revelation her “Ave Maria, piena di grazia” in the fourth act. One would like to sink at her feet. This aria alone made the opera worth listening to all over again.
